Frank Indelicato tells a story about his father, Gasparé, that is indicative of his own business ethics. Back in the days of "handshake deals," Gasparé promised some customers wine at 10 cents a barrel. When the time came to deliver the wine a year later, the going price of wine was 15 cents a barrel. There was no contract, and it would have been easy to charge the customers the higher price.
"He could have made more money," says Frank, "But he stuck to what he promised. That's the kind of man he was."
Frank took this event as a lesson in how to do business. "I always knew that a good businessman keeps his promises," he says. "That's what I have taught the Third Generation of this family."
Having served as CEO of Delicato Family Vineyards, as well as several other management positions, Frank brings his considerable experience to the Board of Directors. "It's been challenging and rewarding to see how the company has changed over the years," he says.
Frank's Daughter, Cheryl, skillfully manages hospitality functions at the family's San Bernabe Vineyard, his son Mike manages Customer Service for DFV Wines' Western Region and his son, Frank, Jr. works in grower relations. Frank has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of California at Berkeley. He has lived his entire life on the family property and cherishes the time he spends there with his family.
