Since August of 2007, Michael Mondavi has worked with the Indelicato family as a member of the Board of Directors and in 2012 transitioned to the Delicato Family Vineyards Advisory Board.
Michael is the founder & coach of Folio Fine Wine Partners, a company he established in 2004 with his wife, Isabel, and their children, Rob and Dina. Folio is an importer of quality wines from the world's premiere and emerging wine regions, including Italy, Spain, Austria, Germany and Argentina.
Additionally, Folio provides sales, marketing and public relations services to the family-owned wineries it represents. Michael and his family also produce world-class Napa and California wines such as M by Michael Mondavi, Isabel Mondavi wines and Emblem at the Michael Mondavi Family Estate in the Los Carneros region of Napa Valley.
Michael's career began in 1966 when he co-founded the Robert Mondavi Winery in Napa Valley with his father, Robert. Until 1974, he served as the vice president of production, responsible for winemaking. From 1969 to 1978, Michael also served as vice president of sales. He was named managing director and CEO in 1990. Following the company's public offering in 1994, Michael was appointed president and CEO and later served as chairman from 2001 to 2004.
Over the years, Michael has been actively involved in industry affairs and committed to numerous civic activities. He is a member of the California State Chamber of Commerce Board, past chairman and CEO of the Wine Market Council, past president of the Napa Valley Vintners Association, past chairman of California Wine Institute, past chairman of Winegrowers of California and past chairman of the Napa Valley Wine Auction. He has also been a board member of the National WWII Museum in New Orleans, Louisiana.
In 1998 Michael was named Industry Executive of the Year by The Market Watch Leaders, a group of top industry executives. In 1997 Michael received the Who's Who in Food and Wine award by the James Beard Foundation and in 1995 he was awarded the World of Food and Wine Lifetime Achievement Award.
